Meet Our Board

Dr. Pam Stanfield

“What the best and wisest parent wants for his child, that must we want for all our children.”
……. John Dewey

“This quote has guided me as a teacher, a principal, and a university professor, and now as a board member for The Covering House. We have an obligation to provide each child what we want for our own children “because every child deserves dignity.”

~ Pam

Mrs. Cathy Sanders
Vice President

“I believe that all children deserve to grow up in an environment where they feel loved, free and safe. An environment where they can play and are encouraged to be curious and ask questions, to investigate and to learn new things every day. Our children deserve an environment where they can trust the adults around them. It is our job as adults in the community to protect and provide all children with that safe loving environment. I believe in the mission of The Covering House, to provide the safe place where we can help restore some of the innocence and dignity that has been stolen from the precious children in our care.”

~ Cathy

Mr. Chris Burke
Board Treasurer

“It matters to be part of something bigger than myself that which brings restoration, healing and hope to these young ladies.”

~ Chris

Mrs. Kara Krawzik
Board Secretary

“These girls have experienced the worst side of humanity. The healing, hope, and restoration that The Covering House provides is from the best side of humanity, and I want to be a part of that in any way I can.”

~ Kara

Mr. David Loesch
Board Member

“It is unfathomable that as people we can be so cruel to one another. Sex trafficking, especially of young girls, is one of those unfathomable cruelties; one of the darkest realities. Girls who have been sexually trafficked have been violated beyond comprehension. How can a society ignore and thus permit this cruelty? I’m involved in this organization to provide shelter, safety, and restoration, to these girls. If we don’t help them, who will?”

~ David

Mr. Don Hoffman
Board Member

“It is the right of every child to feel safe, secure and loved by all those around them but as we know that is not always the case. Commercial sex trafficking has robbed so many of those ‘rights’. At The Covering House we have the opportunity and obligation to restore shattered lives by providing services and programming to restore safety, dignity and freedom for all the children we serve. ”
