Meet the Team
Sherrita is the Executive Director at The Covering House. She received her Master’s in Counseling from Webster University in St. Louis, MO in 2015 and obtained her licensure in the state of Missouri in 2017. She has over 23 years of experience working in social services. She has a wealth of experience ranging from direct care in residential facilities, foster care case management, and individual, group, and family therapy. She has trained and educated other professionals through professional development courses at Washington University, Webster University and other social service agencies.
Sherrita serves as a collaborative partner with the Missouri Coalition Against Trafficking and Exploitation (CATE). Sherrita provided consultation and training with Missouri Children’s Division in sex trafficking victim response training and in Missouri and Illinois in needs assessment and strategic planning related to sex trafficking. Mrs. Allen’s work has an emphasis on treating traumatized children, adolescents and families who have been exposed to various types of trauma and sexual maladaptive behaviors. She has been exclusively counseling survivors of sex trafficking since 2014.
Cyra has served with The Covering House since 2019, bringing 18 years experience in nonprofit leadership and development. Cyra has served social justice organizations since 2002 and centers her work on small to mid-size nonprofits – spanning from ex-offender and inmate services, to homeless children and family ministry, to legal aid and urban youth programming.
Lohman has nurtured and managed allocations of $20+ million in federal and foundation grants and corporate and private gifts. To undergird funding initiatives, Lohman administers fiscal, IT, human resources and marketing initiatives in direct supervision of operations and project managers. Lohman free-lances nationally as a coach to executives and development officers.
Honored with the Moving the Mountain Award in East St. Louis, Illinois, Lohman grew the inner-city’s core urban youth center eight times financially, three times programmatically – structuring the organization’s faculty design, finance, HR, operations and physical space. Lohman joined Humanitri as Executive Director in January 2016 to deepen the ministry’s impact on homeless and incarcerated individuals and to grow the church’s and region’s understanding of and investment in this critical work.
Jessica currently serves as the Administrator of Community Based Services at The Covering House, where she is tasked with building, implementing, and overseeing programs to raise awareness of commercial sexual exploitation of children and reducing the risk of kids falling into trafficking through community engagement. She has provided education and general knowledge of commercial sexual exploitation to students, parents, and staff all over Missouri and even Pensacola, FL. Jessica holds both a bachelors and master’s degree in social work and has used her knowledge to serve the St. Louis area and beyond for the last 8 years.
Cynthia currently serves as the Administrator of Residential at the Covering house, where she is responsible for the oversight and direction of the members of the staff of the facility as necessary to ensure that the residents of the facility receive needed services and protective supervision. Cynthia has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice- Criminology, she has worked closely with at risk youth through the St. Louis County Juvenile Courts and the State of Missouri Division of Youth Services. Cynthia has a passion for protecting at risk youth and have served as a leader in developing staff in therapeutic treatment facilities and Day Treatment Centers for the last 5 years.
