Dedee serves on The Covering House board of Directors. She holds a Master’s Degree in Communication from Illinois State University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Bradley University.

Prior to The Covering House, Dedee worked as a consultant in leadership training, focus group research, and presentation development to several area businesses and organizations.

In retirement, Dedee plans on working part-time with nonprofits in areas of executive and board development, strategic planning and building internal systems.

In 2017, Dedee received the Distinguished Alumna Award from her alma-mater Bradley University for her work with The Covering House.

Her work with The Covering House has received local, regional, and national recognition from media sources such as NBC, CBS, Fox, CNN, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, as well as several St. Louis and national radio programs. Additionally, the St. Louis Cardinals’ Wives have partnered with her to raise support for the children served through The Covering House. In 2013, she was honored to have been nominated by the St. Louis Rams for a Georgia Frontiere Community Quarterback Award.

She participated on the speech team in college where she was National Champion in both Persuasive Speaking and Communication Analysis.
