Tax Credit Information

Missouri Tax Credits

The Covering House has 50% and 70% tax credits available for Missouri tax-paying donors. Tax credits allow you to claim 50% or 70% of your donation as credit on your Missouri State taxes, lessening the amount of taxes you owe to Missouri. For example, when you give a $1,000 donation with a 50% tax credit, the taxes you owe to Missouri will be reduced by $500.

Tax credits are different and in addition to taking a federal and state charitable tax deduction. Tax credits can be used regardless of if you itemize your donations or take the standard deduction on your tax return.

How Tax Credits Work:

1.    Give a donation to The Covering House

2.    Receive Missouri tax credits

3.    50% or 70% of your donation is reduced from your Missouri tax liability

4.    100% of your donation helps sexually exploited and trafficked youth
